The Social Institute welcomes EJ Proctor to leadership team as social media coach

EJ Proctor, social media coachOur team is growing, and this week, we added EJ Proctor, a former Duke Women’s soccer player and captain, to our roster. At Duke, EJ began as a walk-on, became a three-year starter, and helped lead the team to two Final Fours and a national championship game. She was also a 2017 All America Scholar-Athlete.

After graduating a semester early, EJ was drafted to Utah Royals F.C. in 2018 to play in the National Women’s Soccer League, which she did until joining the team at The Social Institute. She’ll be working closely with Sean Kelly – also a Duke grad and student-athlete — as a social media coach.

In the classroom, EJ studied visual and media studies and minored in cultural anthropology. Outside the classroom, she became intrigued by social media and the impact it can have on our lives. As a social media coach, EJ will put both her studies and her personal experiences to work, helping schools across the country empower students to navigate social media positively.

“I love having the chance to learn from everyone I work with at The Social Institute,” says EJ, “and to spend each day looking for more ways to help students everywhere use social media positively, to harness its power to make their lives better.”

When she isn’t working, EJ loves to exercise outside with her husky, Bodie. When indoors, she’s probably watching HGTV.
