The Social Institute releases enhanced, interactive curriculum for K-12 modern life skills development

AUGUST 9, 2021: Durham, N.C. – The Social Institute today announced it is releasing an enhanced version of its #WinAtSocial Platform to enable educators to easily integrate modern life skills into the classroom and to engage 100% of students with an interactive technology experience that enables positive, meaningful conversation and high-character decisions.

After a year of gathering input from students and educators around the country, this latest set of #WinAtSocial enhancements focuses on high school students – to strengthen student resilience, soft skills, and emotional intelligence to prepare for complex challenges including college admissions, balancing technology, and future employment. Interactive lessons and platform features emphasize student engagement, while easier lesson selection and 30-minute onboarding allow educators to get started and help students quickly.

Highlights include:

  • Enhanced modern life skill lessons for high school students
  • New, interactive lesson formats like debates that encourage students to understand varying perspectives
  • Data benchmarks and insights into students’ well-being and behavior to help inform school decisions and provide a school culture check
  • Expanded, engaging professional development content for teachers
  • New lesson filtering that easily identifies lessons by key themes that is also mobile-friendly

Educators can be the first to see the product update as it’s revealed during TSI’s upcoming  #WinAtSocialSummit: Empowering Educators in Student Well-Being, Social Media, and Technology, which will be held on August 18-19, 2021.

This free, two-day immersive experience will bring together expert educators from across the country to address key topics relevant to educators this year, including: learning how to level up your school’s efforts in improving student well-being, preparing for fall, and addressing the impact of social media and technology on student well-being.

“After a year of interruptions due to the pandemic, social-emotional learning is more important than ever to help drive student success,” said Laura Tierney, Founder and CEO of The Social Institute. “When students are socially and emotionally healthy, they thrive academically, too. Summit promises to empower educators to level up their student well-being development to drive student success this year.”

Featured speakers at Summit include:

  • Laura Tierney, Founder and CEO, The Social Institute
  • Laura Gentile, Executive Vice President, Commercial Marketing and Networks & ESPN
  • Ambre Moton, Creative Services Manager, NBC Sports Northwest
  • Gregory Dale, Ph.D., Director of Sport Psychology and Leadership Programs, Duke University
  • K-12 school leaders and teachers

#WinAtSocial Summit attendees will navigate immersive sessions and panels, and explore actionable insights, modern life skill lessons, and resources that students respect and embrace.

The Social Institute will be providing continuing education credits for educators who attend the 2021 #WinAtSocial Summit.
