Job Summary

We’re looking for a software engineer who is a builder at heart and wants to work for a product-led company. We need someone who loves solving engineering challenges, wants to scale a technology to millions of users, and is always learning. In this role, you’d experience a mix of front end and back end development, having to understand both the user experience and the backend web architecture. This person will collaborate across the product, design, and engineering team, working alongside senior leaders to take projects from conception to final product. You’ll need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience with the MERN Stack.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, discussing, and developing full stack features
  • Writing clean maintainable code that can scale with a growing application
  • Focus on user experience
  • Maintain quality and responsive web design of #WinAtSocial application
  • Understanding and following standard web security practices
  • Gather and address technical and design requirements
  • Work closely with Co-founder/CDO and Product Manager to design and launch new features

Requirements 

  • 3+ years experience and is willing to work contract to earn full-time employment
  • Proven work experience with both frontend and backend technologies
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Proficiency with JavaScript frameworks such as React (primary), Angular, Vue.js
  • Familiarity with WordPress Content Management System and architecture
  • Proficiency with TypeScript preferred
  • Familiarity with SASS or SCSS
  • Deep understanding of REST and API design
  • Familiar with MERN or MEAN stack
  • Experience with MongoDB, MySQL & relational database management systems
  • Writing scalable and efficient code in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Experience using Git
  • Passionate about continued education in web development and related technologies
  • Attention to detail from visual elements to utility
  • Portfolio required
